How to Install and Activate Office 2024 Pro Plus

This guide shows you how to install and activate Office 2024 Professional Plus (LTSC) step by step. Office 2024 uses phone activation, and our Confirmation ID tool below turns that into a 30-second job. The whole process takes about 20 minutes, most of which is just the download.

How to Install Office 2024 Pro Plus

We’ve packaged a one-click installer so you don’t have to configure anything. It downloads Office directly from Microsoft’s own servers and lets you pick from 16 languages.

  1. Download the installer: Office 2024 Pro Plus Setup (ZIP)
  2. Extract the ZIP to any folder — your Desktop is fine.
  3. Right-click Install Office 2024.bat and choose Run as administrator.
    If Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” box, click More info → Run anyway. This appears for any file downloaded from the internet.
  4. Choose your language, then 64-bit or 32-bit. Not sure? Press ENTER twice — English and 64-bit suit almost everyone.
  5. Wait. Office downloads about 4 GB and installs itself. The familiar Microsoft Office setup screen will appear — that’s normal.

Important: if an older version of Office is already on the PC, it is removed first so Office 2024 installs cleanly. Your documents, spreadsheets and presentations are not touched.

How to Activate Office 2024 Pro Plus

Office 2024 Pro Plus keys use phone activation. Don’t worry — you won’t actually be calling anyone. Here’s the whole process:

  1. Open Word (or any Office app) from the Start menu.
  2. Enter your product key when prompted. Your key is on your order confirmation page, and always available from Track Orders.
  3. Choose “I want to activate the software by telephone.”
  4. Office shows you a 63-digit Installation ID split into 9 boxes (A to I).
  5. Enter that Installation ID in the tool below — along with your order number, order email and product type — to get your Confirmation ID instantly.
  6. Type the Confirmation ID back into Office and click Activate. Done.

If Office doesn’t ask for a key

Office 2024 Pro Plus is a volume (LTSC) release, so on some PCs the key is entered from the command line instead. If no activation prompt appears:

  1. Press Win, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt → Run as administrator.
  2. Run these two commands, replacing the X’s with your key:
cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16"
cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Then open Word again — the telephone activation option will now be available. To check your licence status at any time:

cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

The folder is called Office16 even for Office 2024 — that’s just Microsoft’s internal version number.

Common Activation Errors (and How to Fix Them)

  • 0xC004C060 / 0xC004F074 — the key wasn’t accepted or Microsoft’s activation server couldn’t be reached. Restart your PC and try again; if it persists, open a ticket for a replacement.
  • 0x803FA067 — usually a licensing mismatch. Make sure you installed Pro Plus and not a different Office edition.
  • “This product key has already been used” — send us your order number through a ticket and we’ll resolve it under your warranty.
  • Installation stops partway — close every Office program, uninstall older Office versions, turn off any VPN, then run the installer again.
