- Make sure you’re connected to the internet, then restart your PC.
- Run the built-in Activation Troubleshooter (Settings → Activation → Troubleshoot).
- Re-apply your key from Command Prompt (admin):
slmgr /ipk YOUR-KEYthenslmgr /ato.

0xC004C060 — “The product key you entered didn’t work”
What it means: The activation server couldn’t validate your key — usually because it’s blocked or already in use on another device.
Common causes: Blocked key · key already used · wrong edition.

0xC004C003 — The key is blocked or in use
What it means: The activation server determined the product key is blocked or already in use.
0xC004C008 — Key used on too many devices
What it means: The activation server couldn’t use the key — typically it has reached its activation limit (used on too many PCs).
0xC004F074 — Activation server couldn’t be reached
What it means: Windows couldn’t contact the activation service (often a network, firewall or date/time issue).
- Check your internet connection and make sure your PC’s date, time and time zone are correct.
- Restart and run
slmgr /atoagain. - If online activation keeps failing, use phone activation with our Confirmation ID tool — it almost always works.
0xC004F069 — Non-core edition (Home → Pro)
What it means: You’re on Windows Home and trying to apply a Pro key. Non-core editions can’t be upgraded to Pro directly with a key change.
0xC004F050 — Invalid key or appears during an upgrade
What it means: The key wasn’t accepted, or the error shows while upgrading editions.
0xC004F014 — No product key found
What it means: Windows has no product key installed to activate with.

What it means: The key is for a different Windows edition than the one installed (e.g. a Pro key on a Home install, or vice versa).
0x803FA067 — Licensing / edition mismatch
What it means: An edition or licensing mismatch, often seen during an upgrade.
0x803F7001 — No valid license found
What it means: Windows can’t find a valid digital license or product key — common after a hardware change (e.g. new motherboard).
0x8007232B / 0x8007007B — “DNS name does not exist”
What it means: Windows is trying to activate against a KMS server (used for Volume editions) instead of using your key. Common on a Volume/Enterprise ISO.

What it means: A permissions problem is blocking activation.
